Your Wordpress Web Site is Designed & Installed… What's Next???
First, there are some basic Wordpress Elements you will need to understand:
Posts: Think of a Post as a diary entry, like a simple thought or group of thoughts relating to a specific subject matter where you have interest or expertise. It could be a video, photo or group of photos, or a sound file of some kind.
Pages: A Page might be something more foundational to the use or function of your site, your service, or just who you are. "About Me", "Contact", "History of Me", etc… might be examples of Page you might like on your site. Creating a Page on your site is very similar to the process used to create your Posts.
Categories: Categories are Wordpress’ way to group together your posts. You might have a Category for "Personal Thoughts" and another Category for thoughts relating to your business.
Widgets: A Widget in Wordpress terms is an object where the information of your site is gathered and organized visually when a visitor comes to your site. A Widget will generally appear as the links on your web site. You might have one widget grouping together the pages of your site, one widget grouping together all the Posts in a specific Category, and another one grouping all your links outside of your web site.
